frame swap problem

I posted this on aother forum with no reply. Have a 80 cj7 frame. Putting a 79 cj7 drivetrain in it. Got the motor and the tranny in. The motor mounts are not lining up. So I got the tape out. The tranny skid plate in the 80 is 1" further back than the 79. Used the 79 skid plate. If I move the skid plate up and drill the frame. How can I get the nuts in the frame, or should I drill all the wat though the frame. Get some longer bolts and put the nuts on the bottom, so they wont hit the body. any sugg. please

Drill the mounting hole were you need it. Then cut a hole in the frame, weld a nut over the mounting hole then weld the piece you cut out of the frame back in place. Wala direct bolt in.

Well the BOZO that previously owned my TJ had 4 out of the 6 skid plate nuts stripped out. I drilled all the way through the frame and use long grade8 bolts to hold the skid plate.
