88K5Blazer just gettin started
Help!!

I have an 88 blazer, and for some reason I am not getting ignition in the #4 and #6 cylinders. I have changed out the cap and rotor, changed the spark plugs, changed the plug wires, and I am getting spark all the way to the plug but when the truck is running and i pull the #4 or #6 wire from the cap, it doesn't effect the engine. Somehow, fuel is not getting to those two cylinders. What might be the problem?

HELP!!

Rastus has disabled reputation
you done a compression check?

pulled the valve cover and checked the valves, rocker arms and pushrods ?

check the intake manifold gasket, see if it is sucking a vacuum between head and intake, will cause those cylinders not to fire properly, sometimes caused by egr valve.

I had it running and sprayed some starter fluid around the intake. If there was a gasket leak, wouldn't the engine rev up?

you should first make sure that the plugs them selfs are firing and they are not fouled out. i am going to assume this is a carbed motor so inj and wiring should not be an issue. all jokes aside spraying anything that flameable on the motor wouldnt be (in my opion) the best way to test your manifold for a leak safety or anything elese wise. i hope this helps you keep us posted

Use water in a squit bottle you will hear it suck if there's a leak.

as Bottlebaby said.........pull the 4&6 plug and see if you have fire at the plug. Run compression check and see how that comes out. Does the motor smoke, lossed power or knock real bad?
