how hard would it be

how hard would it be to change my 78 chevy to a diesel ? like if i can get my hands on a 6.2 and tranny? just wonder if any one knew if its possible or not

My uncle pulled his diesel outta his k5 and put in a gasser... don't see why you couldn't go the other direction...

the question is why? from what I recall the 6.2's weren't that great of an engine and left a lot to be desired as far as the diesel world goes.

My guess would be for fuel mileage. Try searching on ck5.com (if you still can without paying), I know there's a few guys on there that have done the swap.

The 6.2 isnt that bad of an engine, but they weren't major torque monsters either. The one to avoid at all costs is the old 350 diesel. They were basically a converted gas engine and were junk.

maybe a 12v cummins would work but not sure what type of tranny i should put behind it any suggestions
