Jeep 2.5L Problem

I've been helping a friend on his 1992 Jeep Wrangler with a 2.5 Liter 4 banger. He took off in it yesterday when it died all of the sudden and would not re-fire. After it sat for a while, it fired up for 2-3seconds but then died. Its only getting fire to the distributor every now and then. We put a new Rotor, cap, and coil on it with no success. It has 12 volts going into the coil, but still gets no fire. Any suggestions???

michael0584 will become famous soon enough
I'm not real familiar with the jeep 2.5, but it should have some kind of a pickup module in the distributor, might check that out.

Do the 2.5's have a CPS like the 4.0? Maybe somethin else to check. I don't know anythingabout the 4 bangers.

Crank Position Sensor. On the 4.0 it is on the lip of the bellhousing about 10 o'clock and reads off the flywheel.
