I have a 95 yj with a 6 cylinder and a 727 transmission. I burned the transmission and t-case up pulling behind my motor home. What would I have to do to put a dana 300 behind that transmission and would it be worth it?
You are sure its a 727? I ask because the 727 only came in full-size jeep trucks/wagons.. If so, yes flip the case, but front drive shaft will be tight, all controls for the 727 are on the drivers side. You would need a clocking ring, & cable shift setup.
I have run a 231 for almost 5 years now. Behind a 4.0 and auto. Love it. Small compact, sits almost flat concealed by my skid plate. Pulled wheelies in hot springs in 4lo, zero complaints. It's a good case un modified and cheap!
