Looking for a New Offroad carb

Is the Jet Quadrajet a good offroad carb? I dont want some holley and I'm not looking for pane or FI. I just need a carb thats good at mud and inclines and sometimes muddy inclines.

EDIT: This is not your average 'overpriced bling bling Holley'. This is the goto for carbs in offroad from what I can tell.

problem is its going on a 1980 k5 and the holley doesnt fit. is there an adapter or do I have to replace the intake manifold? It came with a 4 barrell Quadrajet now it has some POS 2 barrel on it. Thats why I was wondering about the Jet.

They do make a spread bore to square adapter. Not sure on the Q-jet but ive been around Mitches truck with the edelbrok works well for a carb. Just have to jet down the 800 for your motor.

I know you said you don't want a Holley but I would reconsider. I have the truck avenger and it is super awesome!!! I have had it on my grand wagoneer for over a year now and tuned properly for over a month and have had it almost to the point of going sideways and hasn't even sputtered. It did die on me but that was because I stalled it and then it started like nothing. I have gone up some very steep hills, I would say more than 40 degree angle and it keeps going like if it was on flat ground. It also does awesome in the mud. Just my 2 cents.

I have to throw in for the Holley Truck Avenger. They will keep going at a greater-than 45 degree angle

I've heard good things about the Demon Trucker carb too,but have not seen one in action.

In either case it sounds like someone used a 2bbl adapter on your factory 4bbl intake.
