Question motor bogging question?

When i floor it, the motor bogs down. My vacuum advance is bad and i'm replacing that this weekend, but is there any other ideas of what it could be? I have an Edelbrock 750 carburetor, i've heard that my be to much for my engine (350). Could it be i'm getting to much gas, or not enough?

I guess i should mention that all the plugs, wires, coil and cap are all brand new.

Unless you have a really built up 350 that carb is way too big for that motor. You would be better off with a 600cfm carb or something close to that. It sounds like your motor is bogging because when you floor it there is just more gas than it can burn at that second. This causes it to bog down before it will pick up again. I would really look into buying a smaller carb if it were me.

X2 on that one. I'd pull it off and go with a 600cfm. If you dont watch it, you will gas wash your cylinders with that 750. Smell your oil, just to make sure you didnt already..............

x3.........bigger isn't always better. more fuel then your motor can burn at wide open throttle. check and see if your plugs are fouled now as well.

x4 man. when i slam the skinny pedal on my edbrock 750 i still get a very slight bogg, and its pushing 400hp on smblock 350. yull find switching to a 600 will make a huge diff!! but before jumping back to edbrock try one of hollys truck avenger carbs. heard great reveiws so far.

Good luck and wheel like u stole it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
