NP203 TC Question

I have a 203 Transfer case on my 78 K10 truck. I'm confused about locking in my hubs and the actual shift pattern. One i think my linkage is messed up, but my main question is can i still be in 2wd when my hubs are locked in????

Shift Pattern starting from Dash
1. 4 HI
2. 4 LO
3. Neutral
4. 2 HI
5. Won't shift this far back....

So can i be in 2wd when hubs are locked, and is this the correct shift pattern?

I think i confused myself when typing this LOL

Unless your case has a part time kit there is no 2wd in a np203. If you have a part time kit then you can run in 2wd with the hubs unlocked. With the hubs locked it will still be 2wd but the front axle and drive shaft will turn cause the wheels are turning, but not physically receive any power from the transfer case.

Stock 203 shift pattern
4-Low LOC
4-Low
Neutral
4-Hi
4-Hi LOC

Part time kit shift pattern
4-Low LOC
2-Low
Neutral
2-Hi
4-Hi LOC

I do have the part time kit installed (so the previous owner tells me) When the hubs are unlocked i know its in 2wd because i can turn the tires over pretty easily. So if i do lock my hubs in, I can still be in 2wd as long as i don't put my shifter in 4LO LOC or 4HI LOC correct???

Yeah if you have the part time kit it will still be in 2wd even if you lock the hubs as long as the tc shifter isnt in a 4wd position. You will just be turning the front axle shafts and front driveshaft with the hubs locked in. -Will

Is this Justin?
