nv4500 to np250 questens

i have read every tread i could find but i havnt found an answer to my queston .

ok 1st off i just bought a 91 crew cab chevy long bed 6.2 turbo diesel . it has the 465 and 205 . im pulling the 6.2 and 465 and wanting to go back in with a 6.5 and 4500 . my 4500 has a np241 behind it right now but its drivers drop . i do have a ford hp d60 i could put in but i would like to run the 205 and stock chevy d60

does anyone know if the np205 with bolt up bhind the 4500 without an adaptor ?

will the splines match up ?

is there anything i need to know b4 trying this ?

i read on here that i would have to do some grinding on the 4500 for the 205 shifters . thats no problem .

Hey Robert. Your NP205, as long as it is 32 spline will hook up to the NV4500. You need to notch the NV4500 adapter and you'll need the Advance Adapters plate in order to mount the shifter. Check out AA web site for more details.

does anyone know if the 6.2 came with a turbo stock ? looks like an aftermarket setup . thanks manny . thats the best news ive heard allday .

has anyone done a 6.5 swap on the older body style chevys . how did the ac work and how did it fit due to the turbo being right next to it .

will the 6.2 motor mounts work on the 6.5 ?

sorry for all the questens . i just want to get everything ready b4 i start the swap .

I know there are two different input lengths for the 32 spline 205, one is 3.5" and the other is 1.25", Im pretty sure the longer one came behind the 465 and the short one came behind the th400.

I think you need the short one to fit behind the nv4500 without an adapter.

I only say this because usually the input from the 241 is a short stick out that bolts behind the nv4500. As long as you input in the 205 is about the same stickout as the 241 that came from behind the nv4500 it will bolt up with minor mods like mentioned above.

has anyone ever cut down the input shaft on a np205 . i need to cut around 1-3/4" off to fit .

it can be cut but when you do just throw it away after that . after its cut down the 1-1/2 it will only have 1/4" if splines left . just thought yaw should know

yea damit . i cut it all straight and even . sanded it down and made it look all pretty . tryed to put it on and &^) ^&%*%# (^*(# . cable guy that was working next door must think im nutz . im pretty pissed about it but i will get the one i need wensday .
