can you take pistons and a roller camshaft from a pontiac oilburner and put them in a truck motor?

I wasnt aware that Pontiac ever made a truck engine other than the diesel 350.

That old old GM diesel was indeed a 350, but not a small block Chevy 350. It's possible the pistons are the same, then again, wrist pins might be larger on the diesel motor to handle the higher compression.

I wouldn't bet on it working. They aren't the same block.

I think its the rods you should be after. Stronger than SBC rods, with same specs.

nah the motor was sitting out in the wether too long. there junk. about the only thing still good is the pistons, cam, block. the rocker arms and pushrods are rusted deep. dont know why.

Rastus has disabled reputation
I think he was referring to the connecting rods.

In that case, no. They use a different bore size. And it was Oldsmobile, not Pontiac who made them.
