Re-drilling NP241 adapter

I'm done with this clocking ring, I've disassembled and re-installed it 3 times now, used a ton of locktite and RTV. This past weekend I left at least a quart on the rocks at YO Ranch. It'll stay sealed up fine for street driving, then after each wheeling trip it starts leaking again. I'm thinking it's just not thick enough and is warping.

Anyhow, has anyone had luck redrilling the adapter between a 4l80 and 241? I'm not sure if there is enough material to make it work. Any other options??

Thanks,
Glenn

Have you contacted Kert with DIY4x4 to tell him your issues you are having with the ring?

Okay, I pulled the ring again. This time it was being held on by 2 studs, the other 4 had broken (my fault). I had welded the back of the studs flush w/ the ring because twice before they had come loose from the ring. I guess the welds had made the studs brittle and they had snapped.
I ended up putting new bolts thru the ring that attach it to the adapter, and ground out some of the aluminum from the Tcase mounting surface to clear the head of the bolts. I just tack welded them so that I could tighten them down, hopefully they didn't get brittle.
Anywho, I'm pretty sure this should solve the leak probs, we shall see.

Last time around he recommended using a paper gasket and/or lots of locktite and RTV. I was just unable to keep the studs tight in the ring itself w/ locktite, so I was out of options.

This may sound really weird and way wrong, but sprinkle a little bit of super fine sand or dirt on the studs then apply the lock tight and drive them home.
yes I'm sure your thinking wtf! , but when all else fails it does work wonders. Now when you go to remove said studs that's a whole nother story.

Well, so far so good. I drove the jeep home the other day and back to the shop today, dry as a bone so far. I'm wheeling some this weekend, so that'll be the test, I'm guessing it'll work fine, or the case will rip violently in half.

Well, we went out to Long's Ranch yesterday, spent a fair amount of time bouncing the jeep on some obstacles. I'm happy to report not a single drip of fluid under the jeep, finallly!
