Removing Trans 465 and clutch

Having trouble removing transmission and clutch. Its a 4x4 chevy k10 i have already removed the transfer case and 465 4 speed trans is lose but I cant get it out, havent begun losening bellhousing from motor I figured trans would come out without removing the clutch housing yet or do I have to remove everything at the same time any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

you might as well pull the bell housing to and check the clutch while you have it apart. its a lot easier to put the trans. clutch and bell housing together on the bench and then bolt it back in in one piece.

most likely hanging on the throwout bearing. Make sure you are getting a straight pull. and do what RVreddog suggested, use a pry bar if it is finicky

Sounds like it's going crooked in the disc. Make sure you are pulling it straight out and not at an angle. You might also try jerking it back and forth while pulling, just be sure it is supported well so it doesnt fall.

In my K10 I have to pull the tranny loose before unbolting the bellhousing. There isnt enough room between the firewall and engine to pull it back enough to clear the input shaft.

Great point! Becuse of that reason it's the only time the body lift on my junk has come in handy.
