SBC 350 in a Cherokee???

I've been tossing this over for a while now and i'm closing in on the time to do it. My 4.0 has lost it's compression and i'm trying to decide between rebuilding this one or just putting in a small block. I've got access to a fuel injected 350 but have been advised from people at Advanced Adapters and Novak that although it is possible, it may not be the best idea. Obviously this is a uni-body vehicle, hence the torque issue.

I was just wondering if anyone out there has had experience with V8 torque in a situation like this. Problems with doors opening/shutting, rear hatch popping open at the wrong times, whole vehicle tweaking from motor torque?

Just looking for feedback and possible suggestions. V6 maybe?

Thanx ahead of time.....

The 4.3 V6 is a healthy little motor, and sips gas by comparison. It does have a little motor torque, but not too bad.

A SBC would be more fun though . I'd bet any issues it may cause could easily be erased with a mild cage and tied into plated rail skids.
