Sm465 Mechanical Linkage

Does anyone have a picture of a truck with this set up? I need to see how the zbar mounts to the frame and such. I also need to see what the rod that attaches to the pedal and goes thru the firewall looks like. I have it somewhere but cant seem to remember what it looks like.

If no one posts up, I will be at my rig tomorrow and I can take some pictures for you. I am taking my 465 out and installing a NV4500 with hydraulics.

Thanks, i would greatly appreciate it. I took the donor truck and gutted it of its parts little less than a year ago and don't remember what it looks like.

Manny, a quick question for you, when you swap to the 4500 are you going to use your manual pedal setup and if so how are you going to adapt to hydraulic, thanks

Well, I went out and rebuilt a hydraulic pedal assembly and I'm going to swap it in. I later found out, that in using the Advance Adapters Bell Housing, which you must do, you can use either the mechanical or the hydraulic set-up. I wasn't upset about it because I prefer hydraulic over cable anyhow, but it's not required for you to do.

Modifying your mechanical pedal assembly can be done so it'll work with hydraulics, but I didn't want to go that route.

Alrighty then....Phew, much better!

It was kinda hard to get into the right spots for focused shots, but you should get the gist of the set up.

The push bar connected to the clutch pedal goes through the cab floor just after the cab floor starts to turn upward and under the dash. The mechanism is attached to a bar, which is supported by a bracket on the frame. The linkage is attached to another bar which extends out from the engine block, and then the push rod is affixed against the clutch release lever.

In this shot, right beneath the steering shaft coupler you can see the leverage assembly and the bracket riveted to the frame

In this shot, you can see the frame leverage assembly attached to the clutch push rod that moves the clutch release fork.

In this shot you can see the clutch pedal push rod come through the cab wall and attach to the frame leverage assembly

In this shot you can see the clutch push rod assembly from the front and how it connects to the frame leverage assembly

Here is the frame leverage assembly from the transmission side of the assembly

Let me know if there are any other questions I can help you with. If you need the leverage assembly off the frame, let me know. I'm sure we can work something out. I'm replacing it all.
