Some guidance needed on samurai motor options

I have a very tired samurai motor currently and am wondering what I should do.
Should I go ahead and rebuild the 1.3 or use this as an excuse to do a 2.2 ecotec swap?
The goal here is a streetable trail rig, nothing too hardcore.

Thanks for any input you can give me,
Matt

I would really dig the power of a ecotec in a zuk. Not familiar with how complex the swap is tho.

Have you ruled out a larger zuk engine?

1.6 swap it would be easiest upgrade swap. What size tires do you intend to run on it?? The lil 1.3 works with enough gearing, know a few guys that wheeled em with 36's on a Zuk.

I'm looking for a decent 1.6, but I am having trouble tracking one down.

I'm only going with 31"-33" tires for now so that shouldn't be an issue.

I'd just keep the 1.3, freshen it up and call it good if you can't find a 1.6. Slap some gears in the case and axles and be on your way. If wanting to upgrade anything, do a Yota axle swap.

Yeah I may just do that. I'd love some extra power but don't want to sacrifice any weight.

Thanks everyone for your input so far

Yep, There are a few times I'd like to have a little more HP but it crawls just fine.

6 to 1 Tcase
5.29 gears in the axles
Rolling on 40s

I've got a 1.6 stashed up in the warehouse that I'd like to one day swap in but it won't be anytime soon.
