Storing Diesel Fuel

In an auxiliary tank. Is there anything I can add to the fuel to maintain its quality? I want to start filling my auxiliary tank 20 gallons at a time for the Trees Ranch about 6 weeks away. When I went to Amarillo, I filled 80 gallons of diesel and that sucked seeing all at one time lol. Yeah I could save the money, but I'd just feel better going this route, plus I can still get diesel for $3.85 a gallon...not sure what it'll cost by that time. So any tips? Or will the diesel decrease in quality?

diesel fuel is not as bad about degrading like gasoline is. However this the new ultra low as made diesel more susceptible to sludge buildup (some call it algae or diesel bugs) caused by moisture. There are many products you can purchase that will help with this problem, but really the only way to eliminate it is by keeping your tanks full during long term storage. Keeping them full prevents condensation on the inside of the tank. I have to be diligent about this on all my tractors or else the sludge forms and it is a PITA when that happens.

I ended putting 60 gallons in my auxiliary tank, filling it to the top, and adding some diesel kleen to it.
