strugglin

hello all need some help,i have a 1981 toyota that im having problems with,#1 dont know if its a transmission problem or a clutch problem, when in 2 high and 4 high and in 1st gear truck struggles to get going, takes off fine in 4 low.when i say struggles i mean when i shift into first it goes in but i give it gas nothing happens, have to really rev high befor it starts to budge,it sits on 39's and a guy from work said the 39's prolly burnt up clutch, but the guy telling me this is one of those guys who thinks he knows everything but cant really prove it, so i dont really know if he knows what hes talkin about, anyone with any insight to my problem..........suggestions welcome(truck is completely stock )

What gears are you running?
Most likely a clutch issue...

That's your issue. You need gears bad. Even my buggy with no weight has a hard time taking off in high with just 38's. Need some 5.29's and it will be less of a dog...still a dog just less of one.
