Bandit 10-4 will become famous soon enough
TBI 350 help please

I just bought a 1988 YJ with a TBI 350 and a 700r4, and it has a bad hesitation, like it is starving for fuel or bogging down or something. I have replaced plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter, air filter, I added two bottles of fuel injector cleaner to the tank, I checked the fuel pressure and it was around 11psi. When you mash the throttle it starves out, it just acts like it is out of gas or something when you throttle it, I dont know what to do next. Anyway, You guys got any ideas, Thanks in advance...

pull the air cleaner off and look at the spray, a gummed up injector could be your problem. You may check the fuel pressure and see how far it drops when you mash the gas. 11psi might be a little on the low side. One possibility, but it is really hard to check would just be a bad programing job.

See what the fuel pressure is with a load. 11 psi is probably too low, it should be closer to 15. If it drops much lower than that under load I would lean towards the fuel pump.

Check for vacuum leaks around the TBI. You might try sparying some ether or starting fluid around the TBI. If it idles up you have a vasuum leak.
Does it run OK after you crank it? My would idle OK, but it wouldn't take any extra gas.

Here is a very good Trouble shooting guide I use when I have problems.

Did you check the timing? I had the same problem with mine, it was at 14psi at idle and would drop down to 10 when you mash the throttle.

It may still be the fuel pump but try advancing the timing 6* and see if it helps.

You can also adjust the fuel pressure regulator on the tb unit but you have to take the top half that houses the regulator off to get to it. You have to use a pair of pliers to twist the round piece on the bottom of the regulator and it will adjust the spring inside to increase the pressure or decrease the pressure. It may help. There's a write up on this mod at binder planet.

The chevy manuals say they need between 9-13psi constant to run regardless of load.

What fuel pump are you using?

X2, gotta be 15, if there's a suction filter, make sure it's clean also.

There's a 1 wire connector near the distributor that has to be disconnected when the engine is shut off. Then start it up, set the timing at "zero", tighten the dist. Turn it off and reconnect the plug. Your factory timing should be correct now.

And go with a good pump. Dont buy the cheapest you can find. Preferrably a factory GM.
