Th 350 work

Ok, appears my "friend" is gonna burn me on my th350 deal, so onto different options. If I actually ever end up with it, I have a fresh 0 mile th350 2wd transmission, and I also have a 4x4 output shaft sand Fairbanks shift kit to install. I have the ATSG book on the transmission, but what about anyone's real world experience, how bad are these to tear into and reassemble? All I plan to do is swap shafts, slap shift kit in and install new pump. Figured I would need a seal kit for sure, just to be 100% sure all seals are good when it goes back together..

Having the book by your side will help make the swap pretty easy. It's not hard to do, just time consuming. Make sure your work area is clean, clean, clean and keep everything in order as you pull it out. Keep track of what direction everything was facing and you'll be fine.

Cool, looks like the only specialty tools I need are the lip seal tool and the compressor for low/reverse piston. I have a complete 4x4 unit in my garage in unknown shape, kicked around the idea of full rebuild on it and just sell off the 2wd unit if I ever get it. Probably easiest to just do the output shaft swap on the 2wd though.

A front pump liner upper, just a big hose clamp.

Cool, Gonna order the lip seal tool and the low reverse piston compressor here pretty quick. Cheaper than paying someone, an then I can go through both transmissions and actually have a fresh spare ready to go..

I will be tearing mine down to do the same and have no expirience with transmissions but confident it cant be terribly difficult with the book. Is it possible to maybe get links or part numbers to the tools used?? that would be great! Also if im breaking this bad boy down to put a new shaft, is a seal kit all I should order as far as parts or is there any other insite of parts I should replace while in there? Oh and Big4x4, I am picking up a new 350 today and still debating on whether to swap over all internals to new one or what LOL! Guess that will determined soon Thanks!!!

If its the one with busted hole it's a fresh build, fresh about 4 years ago, but less than 10 miles in it. I'm the one that had that transmission built.
