![]() I'm runnin' a th400/205 set-up, with no kickdown hooked-up. Will this create a problem? I have a kickdown switch, but not sure how to mount and hook-up... Any help? Thanks

the kickdown is the part that makes the tranny shift down when you are on the highway and you punch it to past someone. it won't hurt the tranny but it will suck with out it on the highway. what is the purpose of this truck?
as for the switch it hooks up to your gas pedal, then you run a wire from it to the tranny on the side. th400 has a male spade that is sticking out that you can slide a female spade onto. this is also a switch. Which one you got, one that screws into the tranny or one that has a sliding part?

This is an off road truck..... The switch i have hooks to carburetor, and I believe it is "pulled" when you punch it, but not sure.

you might have got an aftermatket one. if you got a pic of it i would like to see it. but if this is only a offroad truck i woudn't worry about it since you would be shifting your own gears anyway.

it just forces the kickdown to a lower gear. with out it your tranny won't downshift by thottle, only by slowing down. i don't run one and haven't had many issues, but i normally only run down trails at a max of 40mph.

i drive my burb on the street and never used one... i just downshift, but be careful if your going to fast it will still down shift.. BOOM..will be the last thing you here..on the trail when you are in 4lo its rare that you can give it enough gas to get it to engage becouse your rpm's are to high and pedal poission is'nt far enough down....
