Toyota duall cases

I want to setup dual cases for my buggy, I have a 5 speed tranny that mates to a top shift tcase, my 2nd case is a forward shift case. I'm not to familiar with the Yota stuff SO:

Will the trailgear doubler adapter work??
O obviously need to order the shifter to convert the forward shift to top shift, will it be possible to use the trail gear twinstick shifter on my 2nd case?
is the 4.7 gearset trail gear offers teh set i would need for my 2nd case?

twin stick is what most people use on there back case, dont have to but do, i am going to use the FROR twin stick, i like it alot better than the TG one.

you dont have to put 4.7s in the back case but can.

Right, twin stick and 4.7's arent necessary, but would be nice. Main concern is adapting top shift front case to forward shift rear case

im not real familer with it, Mitch would be able to answer that, my front case will be a FS and my rear a TS. im not real sure if you can have it the other way around or not. i looked at the TG conversion kit, i might go that route myself and just make them both TS.

i doubt i will ever put 4.7s in the rear, but i will twin stick it eventually

You can buy the boot too. On Pirates their is a way to convert your forward shift to a top shift using what you have. It will require welding and of course finding that thread. lol
Mike

edit: they have this (daves offroad)

to convert your forward shift to top shift for $99

TG has their Twin Stick on sale right now for $99 -- It will be delivered here tomorrow along with their creeper joints -- christmas present for me

4.7 are not a must unless you just really want to go "stupid" slow.

Twin stick just makes life ALOT eaiser!!!

May I suggest Marlin's Crawl Box -- it rocks -- that is what we have.

Just out of curiosity, what is so great about a twin sticked Yota case, you cant do front digs with them, so what, is 2wd rear low that important?

2WD Low Low
of course if you want front digs. buy this:
http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/4rundrivetrain.htm
Rear Driveline Disconnect
This compact unit simply replaces the rear drive shaft flange of the Toyota transfer case. It is a great alternative for the Toyota owner who can take advantage of the benefits of all of the various transfer case gearing options and have the ability to "burn-turn" or do front wheel digs......just like the guys with the Atlas cases! This rear drive disconnect made by Trail Tough works not only for the serious wheeler's burn-turning needs, but also works excellent for disconnecting the drive shaft for guys who just want to flat tow. Comes with all needed hardware and shifter handle.
Cutting a hole in your tunnel for shifter is necessary and new weather stipping is supplied.
Price: $429.00

The only reason for twin sticks is the bling factor in Yotas. I was welded up in the front of my F-toy and with only hydro assist it kinda sucked. In my truggy I gotta D60 welded up but have full hydro and dont even know its locked. As for the OP, you cannot run a forward shift in the rear UNLESS you change it to topshift.

Thumpers right you will have to change it to work.

4.7's isn't a must but it's a HUGE advantage over dual stock cases.

I've actually been thinking of putting in another 4.7 gear set to make a trippler. I know I would never use all three at once but being able to use dual 4.7's would be sweet!

I am going to be running the 22r/5 speed/ dual cases and 4.10's in the axles turing 36's for now, but hope to upgrade to 38's. Figured the 4.7's would be nice to do while i am in there. basically the top shift and forward shift cases are the same other than the shifter setup I am assuming?

When you come up Friday you can drive mine. I have 22r/ 5spd, and duals with stock gears. I have never needed 4.7's but I can see where they would be nice if you follow alot of people on the trail. By the way all mine is Trailgear.

dual cases

I have dual cases in mine and I am pushing big axles and tires. I have not tried it yet but I am a firm believer in lower gears whether in the axles or in the t-cases. I have 4.7's in mine also.

Let me ask you guys this then, with 4.10's and 36's (hummer tires) and a single case, do you guys think I will be ok for a trip or 2?? I want to do the dual cases for sure, and do it all at once, dual cases, twinstick, and 4.7:1 in 1 case, just have a few other HAVE TO HAVE things that the rig will need. if i will be safe for a trip or 2, I can hold off a lil while and do the cases right and do em once.

dual cases and 4.7 in the rear will do just fine. I have 36" tires, dual stock t-case and if money ever came my way. I would like to add 4.7 to the rear case.
My stockers just don't crawl the way I would like them to. BTW I have 4.37 gears in the diff.

Main question for now then is, bone stock 22r/5 speed/ single stock case 4.10's in a d44/14 bolt and 36's, could I at least stay together for a trip or 2?? I just want to actually go wheel, and upgrade as $$$ is available..

Your going to burn your clutch....if you keep your foot in the clutch. 4L will be as good as it gets. You can forget about 4H. IMHO
Razorback on the board has a single 4.7 Marlin case. Just as slow as my dual stockers. I just have a extra shifter and a few more selections.
