Toyota trans probs

Long story short we tried to pull start my Toyota at the river(old blue) and didnt see it was in low low, after the first try something happened. Got it home put in a new starter and starts right up but now you put it in gear and it will only move about a inch a hour. No matter how much gas you give it the speed doesn't change, also when you take it out of gear it still moves.... So is that a fried clutch( never smelled burning clutch) or what? It's a 22r, 5spd, and dual cases.

My guess it busted the teeth off the input to the cases. I bet the trans is fine. I'd pull the case shifters off and have a look. Maybe even stick a magnet to the bottom and see if you can pull out some teeth or debris. Any terrible sounds when letting the clutch out?

I have told you what I think, several times.
Your going to have to find out the old fashioned way.

My opinion, in writing....

I bet it went something like this...

Dumps clutch to pull/ push start( in low, low)
Clutch pressure plate says enough.... spring or something wedges its self causing partial engagement, or lack of.

Wasn't there, and Im no mechanic.

If the rig moves is not truly in neutral. Can you shift to reverse? Is it still in low low?

I would shift to high and reverse, if it does the same thing you def need to pull it.

Any odd noises, grinding?

Pour a bottle of K9P in the gearbox, that should fix it.

No sounds at all, shifts from 1st to R no prob and moves same speed back. Take it out of low low and it doesn't move.

If it were a clutch problem, I'd think it wouldn't shift good while running. That leads me to the tcases. I've been wrong though....

When you snap a t-case shaft it wont move at all. Rear output or input shaft.

I bit its a clutch problem.

I'm no Yota guy, but a decent shot in the dark.. Sounds like a problem in both tranny and tcases. Tranny isn't allowing neutral and both cases only have low range.

Doesn't mean it's snapped. It may have fubbared the splines and has barely enough friction left to move the trick....

This is a great place to start.

Edit: and double check the t-case shifters to make sure one isn't half out of gear.

The possibility of the clutch being out would explain why it won't move quickly, but not why it still moves in neutral.

Tried it before I head into work and now it's not moving out of gear. Lol like I said in gear it moves the same no matter how much gas you give it.
