TV cable attachment to Quadrajet?

I've been experimenting for 2 days now trying to get the TV cable from my 700r4 to attach to the Quadrajet on my 455. When I pulled the engine/tranny I broke the little plastic piece that "clips" on the mounting bolt, so I can't re-use the part that was on my edelbrock. Even if I wanted to, there's not enough room between the accelerator lever and the intake.

Any ideas? I've been kinda thinking about those old bicycle brake caliper bolts, but can't seem to find one that'll fit. Of course, I havn't been to the bike shop yet, which will be my second stop tomorrow. I've got a date with the exhaust shop in the morning and a pimpin deal on their services, so I'm not gonna be late.

I went and talked to an AutoStoner for some type of part that might work, and turned around and walked out after he thoroughly introduced me to every part in Autozone's audio/video/electronics department.

Heres your problem........ Autozone.
I have learned to stay out of those stores.
I dont even go in there for oil anymore.
Go to NAPA or O'Reilly's, at least they know auto parts.

Yeah, but they were open and on the way home. I was hoping they had a cable brake fitting for an old Honda motorcycle or something, I didn't stick around long enough to find out.

I think they used to have the little clamps you are talking about in the help section.

Here's some part numbers. Should be able to get them at any place that has a help section.

What I wanna know is why you have a TV hooked up to the Q-jet. Get more channels that way or what?

that's what I'm trying as we speak...

I cut a "slit" in one end of the sleeve wide enough for the wire to pass through. The cable still has the barrel on the end, so I'm hoping to keep it. I cut one of the screws down to run through the throttle lever and push the cable up against the hole.

We'll see how it works.
