Waggy Swap into a YJ Jeep
Well here is the situation, I have a shot for a $400 complete Waggy with 360 eng (Trans is bad) that I wanted for it's axles. I have 1989 4 bangger that needs gearing and locks! Well my question is should I go head and switch axles along with engine and just fix the trans into my YJ? How does a YJ perform with a 360 and is it complicated or even worth to swap. Is there anything I should know about before I get my feet wet?

depends on the waggy.
360 will be carbbed not fuel injected (not sure about your yj) tranny (auto) will cost arround 400$ to rebuild quadratrac = junk if quadratrac rear axle = junk (offset diff) (sell it to a sammi guy) front axle depends on the waggy what side pumpkin is on a carbbed 360 is an easy swap into a yj as far as swaps go... figure new radiator, headers, exhaust, motor mounts, etc. V8 YJ lots of fun

If the waggy is newer than '79 or so it should have a centered rear axle, and the correct side front diff. though some of the early 80's have central disconnecting front axles like your YJ. If you get one of these you can weld up the gears and have a selectable front locker.
