01 Chevy 2500 Duramax problems

Ok guys.
What problems or ghost do 01 2500 4x4 Duramax 4-door S/Bed have.

truck imfo:
It has low miles under 90,000miles. Super good maintance up keep. Oil every 5000 and tranny every 25,000. Just had dealer replace injector's. Has gauges and bigger exhaust. Never had a chip on it.

What kinda problems do these trucks have. Truck well be use as a work truck/DD.
And:
Any type of up keep should be do over time.

T-case pump rub.

The pump in the t-case wears a hole in the case and pumps all the fluid out. Keep a close eye on drips from there and catch it before it explodes going down the highway like mine.

I have 120k on my 04 and love it.

Lb7s are known for having bad injectors, but it's a hit or miss kind of thing. I've heard of the overheating problems, but not sure what causes it. Dag956 is quite knowledgeable on the topic at hand, see if he'll chime in. Also, check out dieselplace.com for lots of info...

Great trucks overall. I if you can afford it avoid an LB7 01-early 04. And transfer case pump rub is hit and miss but cheap to fix with a kit.

Overheating in the 04.5-05 trucks is in extreme cases IMO and easier to fix than the crappy LB7 injectors.

I am going to pick up an LB7 with a bad injector right now

Well like said the dealer replaced the injectors on this truck. And they now have a 100,000 mile dealer warrinty.

This imfo is for my little brother. He's owned two 12v dodge dullys and have run both over the 300,000 mile mark.. Ands he geting out of hauling his dozer around. And getting his servay license.
So now he wants a nice DD/work truck.

Thanks

My friend owns an 01 dually with the lb7 and he purchased it with 50,000 miles on it. He put a bullydog on it which is hard on those trucks anyway and ran the crap out of it and has had no problems with it. He had the injectors relaced under warranty around 150,000 miles and still going strong. I own an 07 LBZ and it's a beast. Good Luck

I have only heard of overheating problems in the early Dmax's. IMO, the truck itself is an excellent truck compaired to the dodges. I just wish they came with the cummins.

Read there for plenty of info on the LB7. They are great trucks, just watch out for the little things that are mentioned. I have an LBZ myself and x10 on it being a beast.
