angle grinders rock!

ok, so I'm an admitted 30-year old power-tool rookie

My 1st angle grinder is a harbor freight 4.5" that I bought a few months back for use on both my rigs, mainly to cut the rivets off the frame to do shackle flips on both of them.

I had an eventful friday a week ago that was capped off by breaking the key off in the lock on my storage unit after having Michelle (84ToyLady) drive out of her way to pick up some leaf springs to haul down to Houston for someone else.....after I couldn't meet up with her,due to the moody starter on my Suburban.

so I got to the storage unit with a borrowed extension chord that barely reached and the angle grinder . Sawed through the big padlock like a knife through butter via a cut-off wheel

Now I just want to cut things with it

Gearhead61 will become famous soon enough
Plasma is awesome in a "wow that's cool" and "get stuff done" mixed together sense.

If you want something that's REALLY fun... my vote is oxy-acetylene.

Build an f-toy, you'll never want to look at an angle grinder again. I got a brand new dewalt 4 1/2 inch grinder and it took a dump before it was finished.

That's sayin something. We've beat the hell out of a Dewalt and it's still going. Imagine how many HF junkies you'd have gone through...

FYI dont use the H/F grinding wheels or cut off wheel. They like to blow apart.
Spend your money on name brands one. After acouple good chunks of wheel stuck in you. You'll spend the money.if you do use them wear a face sheld. hell were one even if you dont use them.

You should see what a 6" or 8" grinder well do.

They'll make a man out of ya, I'll tell you that much. I've got a 1960's model that has just about whipped me on several occasions. Made my forearms so weak, I had to drink with plastic cuz I was afraid to pick up a glass. But with the right wheel, they'll remove some material...QUICK.
