Atlas 4 speed or coilovers???????

I'm looking at making some changes to the rig and have a few ideas and wanted some input.
1. Thinking about getting the Atlas 4speed t/c to greatly increase the crawl ratio but still have a gear for tearing up the mud.
2. Second thought would be to remove the coils and shocks and install coilovers at all four corners for better ride/ control.

As of now I have a 205 t/c and 6"Tj coils with 14" shocks. My delima is which mod would be more benefical at this time and more bang for my dollar. Which ever I don't do know I can do this summer.
I was just hoping to hear from some guys who have done 1 or both and see what your first choice would be. Thanks for the input.

Terry (buddy with 4 door blue truck) just put in the Profab. He likes it but it is a divorced set-up and only goes to 5-1 gearing. Thought about that but $2000.00, had I don't have the wheelbase he does for the divorced set-up.

I woundnt do coilover's in a mud truck. Or do you plan on doing alot of jumping or high speed. What they redesign for. That's way they came out with air shocks. And dont forgat sway bars if you do coilovers.

Id look into a Stak's t/c. better deal for the money. Plus they come with all the upgrade's unlike atlas t/c's. And you can just fined a 203 adapter for your th350 and you done. No adapter to buy.

And what about a klune gear box infront of your 205. And buy some o.e.m shafts.

It was a mud truck until it's last stint under the knife. It now has a 1 link, coils, and flexes better then 99% of the Heeps arond here. ( It will max out a 30* RTI) Having built it the way it is, I wa planning on doing alot more rockcrawling hence to 10-1 Atlas Idea.

I wouldn't consider putting coilovers on just a mud truck.

I'm running a 400 not a 350 but thanks for the info.

Klune V is $1800-2000.00 and you get 4-1 max and you stretch you driveline 6-10", shorten driveshafts, and have one more item to break.

Atlas- $2700 and you get 5.44 or 10-1, lighter, shorter, all in one package and you're done.

Just do the 5.44 gear. You'll have way more then enough gearing. The 4 speed case's are overkill. No need for that much gearing. If you have low diff gear'n and a heathy motor. Which you have both. You'll be fine. I got a double t-case setup and i hardly put the second case in low. And i have a small motor. And if i do double down it because yotas have a sweet gear that double low and like 3rd or 4th gear. I think you can get a stock adapter for a 203 to fit to a tb400. There not going to tell you about stock adapters that fit because thats cash out of there hands. Still think the stak case is a better deal. You have to upgrade no parts it come built the right way.

I need flex and I need gears as well. I just ordered my Atlas 4spd in Dec. I felt it was more important to have control of speed than stability at this point.

I agree that the double low in the 4spd is pretty useless, but in my case, I was able to pick it up cheaper than a STaK, so why not have that extra gear? I hope by sometime Mid-March, I'll be sporting a 241:1 crawl ratio.

Says the man w/ no atlas. I love mine, plenty of choices. The 10.3:1 gives me about a 330:1 final, and it is awesome w/ my 44"s. The best investment so far, now I just have to get some longfield CV's for the 60 upfront.
