Baiting Coyotes... What to use?

I have a buddy with a coyote problem. They have taken two of his dogs. He has his rifle out on the property right now and ready to thin them out. Anyone ever baited them before. I have heard Pork meat is good, What else?

Pork is what we use but it's normally attached to the entire PIG. If we shot a big boar we haul them out to the fields and set up and wait on the yoties. A varmit call works very well if they are near by.

Tie a rope between two trees with drop lines that have big treble hooks. (like a trot line) Bait the hooks with any cheep meat from the store or old rotten meat out of your fridge. Come back the next morning and do some target practice.

Cheep ground meat with glass shards mixed in is equally effective.

My first thought was,"dogs worked fine before". But i really like dogs, even worthless ones. So, second choice.....cats.

ive always used random rodents and an electric call. go shoot a couple prarie dogs, rabits, random scavenger birds, porqupine, or whatever. coyotes will eat anything.
i also like the treble hook idea. never tryed it, but im going to now.

Not baiting but... my buddy had a coyote problem on his little place. They kept killing some of his black bucks and axis. He got a couple of mules and low and behold, the literally kicked the sh!t outta two of them and killed them.
Otherwise, get some cute bunnies, kill them, drag them and their entrails around the ground to leave good scent and set them up. Sit back with ol' painless and a varmint call and smoke em'. At least thats how I did it when I lived El Paso county.

Nothing beats calling them in with a mouth call! I called one in within ten feet from me, close shot is an easy shot!

Tie up a chicken by one leg on the fence. Worked rather well for us. The distress squawking really brings them in.
