Built rigs still driven on the street

I am sure you guys have had this kind of post before but I have been thinking I really wanna make my propane eating, 1 ton jeep on 38s street legal for the fun of it and to drive to work every once in a while. Lets see what you have driven on the street and had street legal!!

Mine is an '88 YJ with 4.0l, AW-4, Stock 231, Dana 60 Rear 5.38's Lincoln Locked. Dana 50 front 5.38's and lock-rite. On 38" SSR's on recentered H-1's. Drive it every now and then on the street. It still passes inspections and will run 70 in OD getting 8mpg. Oh and redneck Ram Hydro Assist. It has a bit of vibration around 45 but goes away at 55, steering is a little loose around town but is good on the hightway.

1980 Toyota long bed, dual cases, hi steer, hydro assist, 4" lift with RUF. some Body mods. H1 recenter, grooved Wrangler 36" tires, lock right front, welded rear diff.
Roll cage, rock sliders, diff armor and so on.
I drive it moslty to work and back. I plan to Drive it to Big SHell some time this summer from SA.

I did drive it to K-Rock about three years ago on 33" buckshots. Had a great time.
A pic back then.

MaroonOut just gettin started
Still drive mine around even after I rolled it. Just had a forklift lift the roof, took off the doors, and got the motor going, and away I went.

And it's soon to get tons and duals starting this weekend. Best believe I'll still be driving then, and even still once I chop the cab off and do some tube work like this:

Did you guys have any trouble with the inspectors on the propane? I have a forklift tank which are supposedly dot certified but just wondered? I think I am gonna have to get another windshield and figure out wipers but oh well. Thanks so far to all who have posted. Some sweet rigs I might add!!!

Oh and here is mine in case you haven't seen it--------------

Windshields are not required but wipers are.....go figure. Never had a problem with inspectors.

mines registered as antique (if interested ill send you requirments)so no inspectors but i dont think forklift tanks are dot approved. either way im not paying the propane tax on mine so i guess we would both get a ticket if the cops knows what hes looking at...

I drive my cj7 on the street all the time. Its built with 3/4 ton chevy axles, 36s, tbi350,465,205. It's not as hardcore as some but it's still fun and it'll cruise at 70mph no problem.
