Changing jobs again.

I thinking about changing jobs again. For the past two years I have been the East Texas District Engineer for Newpark Drilling Fluids. Today I found out that I will not be getting the job I have been working hard to get, so I told my company to take there job and shove it! It felt very good.
I already had three other jobs lined up with other places when I did and they knew it to. End the end I'm still going to be working for Newpark, but now I will have 14 days off a month and make the same money +. Before I was on call 24/7, and only weekends off if no one called. I other words if I wanted to go wheeling I had to take vacation. Now I will have a choice on if I want to work or go wheeling!
Or I can stay in the office and take the 10% raise they said they would give me if I stayed in the office. The guy said he would not hold me to my word about quitting, but I think my mind is made up at this point.

Hate to loose you as my boss mudgod , I still think it's wrong they didn't give you the job that you were already doing! That is just straight up .

I don't blame you for taking the 24 hour job over the office job. It will probably feel great not to have to listen to that phone ring all the time. At least you will still see my phone number pop up.

Good luck in your new venture!!

Your confusing me! Did you tell them to go suck a bag of pee pee's or did you take the 24 hour service job?? Or did you??

I guess I will call you tomorrow and get the scoop! I do hate loosing you as the bestest boss I ever did have....for two weeks! Dont sweat it man....everything happens for a reason. Now you will be out in the field and be seeing more people, people will see your mad skills and talk to people who know people and POOF! You will be the a-hole in the first trailer on the location!!

I can say this, and I dont think I am alone here. I would not be where I am today without you taking a chance and putting your neck out for me good buddy. You got my support in whatever you decide.

I am a believer that you should not have to quit to get a raise or promotion. I do not like to flip jobs like some people I know do in the rental business. I think you should move on. There is the short version. Good luck Mudgod. In your line of work I would say you better get the money while you can. Because sooner or later they will be moving all these rigs out and you will either have to move or go find something else to do. JJ
