No plans yet...but may try to make time to go out with the wife's family to kill some time

Ill be in D'Hanis Sunday and Monday. Hondo in a few weeks. A few trips scheduled in Marion and got an invite somewhere south of SA. I think he said Poth. If it flies, it dies!

I usually post up in the backyard. I'll be wheeling opening weekend, but hope to hit the next few weeks.

Actually.....they pretty smart. I hunt in city limits on county property just outside the city. They fly from the city early morning into my area then back to the city at night. It's the best place I have found in the last 8 years.

I'll post up pics too

Well I stayed up too late the night before opening day and didn't hunt the morning. Bummed. I hunted evening just before it rained.
Anybody else use decoys? I shot the only two that flew in to my decoys then after it rained I saw 1 bird 100 yards away in 2 hours. I know it was weather related but it was a pretty uneventful evening hunt.

I made a decoy tree this year. First time I have used decoys. I was impressed

In our group we got about 30...woulda gotten more but the neighbors were attracting more since we were in more of an open area. I was rusty as heck...had been 2 years since I had shot dove.

That's a fair count.....long as there weren't 30 in your group. Lol

I hope the rain stays away from our spot and we do better tonight

We had a group of 10 Sunday morning and shot 138. I go to this place in D'Hanis every year and everyone usually gets 5-10 but this year it was nuts. That afternoon we had 12 but only got 46. It was back to normal.

Well dang, sounds like you guys are wearin em out. Sweet

I had a repeat of Sunday night. 1 bird flew in to land on my decoy. Almost landed on my head. It was pretty cool. Then a storm rolled in and they didn't fly again.

Bummer. Haha I was lookin forward to how last season turned out. Glad somebody's gettin some action. Good luck rest of your season guys.

See you in k2
