Fishing questions

What months are peak for topwater action i.e. POP-R

What months are peak for rat l traps?

What months are peak for rebel crawfish lures?

Any other advice?

I'll mainly be fishing on lake lewisville, but will occasionally make it to Ray Roberts.

I caught a 3-3.5 lb'er today on a chrome and blue ratltrap in about 4' deep water right in front of a submerged log 10' off of the bank. I lost a total of 5 lures trying to catch his brother and sister in that same spot. I got one more hit from something decent sized but didnt set the hook in time. Caught two little bass not even 8" long on the ratltrap also.

rat l traps are good all yr round at my folks place. saw a neighbor catch 2 bass on the same cast on a rat. this weekend! that was weird-he thought he had a monster!
I use topwater lures (buzzbaits, rubber frogs, stickbaits, jitterbugs from may to aug, and cast into the shallows, weeds..the places where few people can get too.
One of these weekends ya need to come out to quitman and fish. maybe when they reaaaaally turn on.

I used to fish a lot of tournaments and when your fishing for dough, I have learned to not to throw it unless it's soft plastic. Learn how to really fish a plastic worm, you will catch consistently better fish if you stick with it! IMHO only use the hard baits ( top water, crank, spinner, etc. ) when the fish are super active and displaying a reaction type bite.

very true. ^^. If I dont catch a fish in 5-10 minutes, out comes the worm or lizard.

Catfish is what I fish for. It is not as much work as bass fishing! Plus while cat fishing you can sit in the boat all day and drink and wait for the fish to come to you! God bless America!!!

The fish feeder on my pond feeds my catfish twice a day. My Nephew and I are working on a plan to use his RC boat to fish with. Of coarse, we'll tie a fishing line on to the front of the boat just in case we catch something and it pulls the boat under!
