Heading to huntsville 02/18/06 I got ???

Well I did a google search and found out one way to get their and the other was map quest. Googles has me at about 246 miles at 5.3 hours.
Map quest has me at 266 miles at 4.1 hours.
I basically can take the to austin route and turn left or map quest of I10 to houston and toll rd. route.
I10 seems much faster but The last time I was in houston it sucked bad. I hate toll rds.
Guess is what I am asking is if they is a better way to go pick up some parts in huntsville?
Any help I would thank you for.
the address is A Ace transmissions
650 state highway 19
Huntsville, TX 77320
Thanks,
Mike

Fastest way is thru houston and take 59 north.

Easiest way is turn off in San Marcus, take 21 north to 290, go to Brenham and then east to Huntsville

I don't want to beat a dead horse. The only place I have been to that way was galveston for a Gas Nations R/C style about 4 years ago and them toll roads are Hell.
Is their any other way around houston to avoid Toll Rds.?
A detailed (I stress Detailed) map and Directions would be really greatful.
I have a copy of Googles and simple enough I just don't want to get lost.
Post up https if you found something better. I posted the addy in my first post.
I will starting here in SA zip 78228 off of Bandera.

59 North??

I think I remember taking 45 North when I used to travel back and forth to Houston. But that was many years ago.

Fastest way in my book is Loop 1604 to I35. I35 to Hwy21 then get off at Hwy 6 headed south in College Station for a couple miles until you hit hwy 30 which takes you straight into Huntsville.

Thanks all. I called apon a old friend that knows what way is the best for me. I hate directions with a passion. Tomorrow, going to his house and see what I am looking at. His brother lives in Huntsville and is a Corrections Officer. So I got the skinny on what ways is the fastest and easiest for me without getting lost.
Man, I can't wait for Friday!!!!
The cheby will be paid off and finally get some money into my Toy for a change.

mnmstoy, I hate to say it. But, it sounds like you don't get very far from home. I am not complaining. But it is 400 miles 1 way for me to go out to TreesRanch. That means driving through Houston and SA. The trick with Houston is to drive through as fast as the flow of traffic will allow. I'll go through there at 70 mph with my trailer and OHV in tow. Don't use turn signals or they won't let you in. You find a gap in the traffic and go for it.
Good luck on your trip to Huntsville.
Rastus is right. I10 East to 59 North. It ain't bad.

One other way, for the future, is go get a $110 GPS that uses a usb port in your lap top. Then just look at the map as you go or route your self by using the program. Like finding 1234 anywhere street, in houston, it'll take you right there. Really a neat tool for people trying to find an address, in an unknown area. Heck, I didn't know anything about the south mississippi coast, given 100 addresses to go too, how you going to find them, city maps are not worth anything, but this cheap little lap top addon really works good. Give me an address in SA, I can find it. So you might think about somethingalong this line in the future. It really does work, and very easy to use for finding anywhere in US.

Right, 45 north. This fricking night shift plays with the brain. Only a couple more weeks of them. Then MegaRun and then hopefully back on day shift.
