Job change.

Well after some time thinking this over I have decided to leave Jeep Master's.

For the last few month's Cam and I have
been talking about me coming over to KRAWLTEX.

last Friday I gave Ray my two week notice.
Ray said no need for the 2wk. so look's like
the tool box get's moved in the morning.

What the hell is it about a 2 week notice. I've always been told, put in your 2 weeks notice...I never have. I've just been like I'm quitting. I've heard from quite a few friends who have tried being courteous enough to give their 2 weeks notice & bosses give the same response you got. Bunch of bullchit if you ask me...good luck with the new job

My last job I gave two weeks for. But it was an out of state contractor job. Wanted to give them time to fly someone else in to take over for me.

If you are leaving because they are a jacked up company and you wouldn't want a recommendation later down the road from them anyways, I say pack your things and just don't show back up. If you like the folks, but are leaving to pursue a better opportunity and want to give them the courtesy of some lead time to find a replacement, then give them the notice. I have given my notice a few times, and been told that it was not necessary to stick around. A few times it was them being courteous back, others it was them telling me to get my **** off their jobsite.

As an employer when someone gives me their notice I let them go at that time. I am liable for what they do for the next 2 weeks. Short timers can cost me more money than it is worth to have tehm work.

I'm leaving on good term's.

Going to work for Cam will allow me
to do more of what I want to do for a living.

I really enjoy doing the fab. work and
to get to do it in a off road shop that lean's
more to the hard core side of wheeling is like
a dream job.

How does that work w/ unemployment ins.? Would that be considered termination then?

I do the same. If you are leaving, just go.
They quit. Not terminated, just agreed they were not a good fit anymore and not needed because they wanted to leave.

You don't quit until you don't show up anymore. What happens if you are injured on the job after that, since you 'quit already' would you not want the employers insurance to cover the injury related costs?

The way I see it is that once you give notice you have already quit. timeframe means nothing to TWC. You are choosing to end the employer/ employee relationship. I am just choosing the time. Like I said it is not worth it. Nothing personal against you Zuki just the way I have to run my business.

Bob I agree with you.
When I gave Ray notice I knew that day was my last
I planed it that way.

Just don't wait to use that two weeks to find another job. Better have all your chit in one sock before you say anything.
