management training

are there any good free websites to read about management on? I did a google search but just thought someone might have some good opinions.

I learned alot about being a manager in the 3 days I have been doing it. Kinda scary to imagine what else there is that I havent learned yet.

The most important thing I believe I learned is to treat people as you want to be treated. I have gotten good responses from everyone so far, I'm sure that will change.

I would suggest one thing. Unless you hang out on weekends and such with the people who work for you, don't try to be their friend at work. It is better to act like a coach.

Remind "them" that you're there to back them up and for "them" to see you as there equal,. then review training and comp. policies with each one them to verify that everyone's on the "same page" for companies' sake,. and,. if after that has been accomplished,. and you see inconsistancy,. give write-up,.. allow for realignment,.. if not,.. fire them and start "fresh." Also,... remind yourself that the "reflection" of company IS always on your shoulders concerning your choice of employees,... Sally
