Looks good Stretch!!

I like the idea of powder coating tools to help keep track of them when on the trail.

Clint: you think you could talk A&A into powdercoating stuff for me for the same price you get? Do you have an "in" with the boss of that place?

[I'm assuming you get a good price]

Black Chrome before clearcoat getting applied. Looks better in person.

I'm coating 5 beadlock rings tonight.

Here is the start of the coating process, you can't tell from the pics but these were in rough shape when I picked them up at 5:30pm tonight. I just got through cleaning them and getting rid of most of the gouging around the edges from trail use.

Hanging out to dry for an hour or so before coating them red and putting them in the oven.

BTW, the folgers can sitting there has 150 bolts and washers that need to be cleaned and then coated black. Gonna let them soak tonight and tomorrow before trying to sand blast and powder coat them.

More pics later tonight or tomorrow.

take a board and drill holes the size of the bolts. put them in and power them, that way you don't get paint on the thread, or take the time and make a metal stand for them.

just an idea to help speed up the process.

These are going on Tim McGill's competition buggy BTW!!!

Tim and OldGoat will be sporting powder coated beadlock rings at Katemcy next weekend. I might even slip down there to ride along w/OldGoat.

so clint, say i decide to come home for a few days (ft worth) could i take my wheels off my truck and get them dismounted and you have them cleaned and powdercoated in a day or two? thats real quick turnaround, and the reason i havent had them done already is the slow turnaround time ive gotten from a few guys. if i could bring them to you one morning and pick them up the next evening or even that the third morning? that would get my business in a heartbeat if the price is still halfway reasonable to do them.

its looking good, glad you finally have a way to compensate a little bit of the cost of your little hobby. it may take a year or two to pay for all that fancy equipment, but i think itll be worth it, and who knows, maybe youll grow to like doin it. good luck with all of it, and i look forward to seein all the final products you come out with

wes

hmmm

Wish my beadlocks had the centering strip around them like Tim's does. Cant wait to get mine done!!!! Looking very good, sounds like the bolts are going to be fun but with the aluminum jig you can at least transfer them straight to the oven, good thinking. I heard yesterday that DIY4X is advertising the D60 diff covers now so maybe mine will be here soon.
