Rain 3/19/06 in Dallas

I have never seen this much flooding in my neighborhood. For the first time ever in my life I had to hunt for a safe crossing to get to Mom and Dad's house, and that was in the 4x4 dually!

Rain....I hate it. It screws up everything. Can't see my Nascar. Can't wrench outside(can if I had to). I wear glasses and can't see well with the water all over the lenses.
The good.... well the grass gets water, cools off the heats some. Fills the water wells and creates Mud.
The mud guys are lovin it.
Mike
I don't mind it raining on the days I work.
bla bla bla I'll shut up now.

Thumbs down Fire, then firemen, then flood is worse.

Fire, mud slides, tornadoes, earthquakes or severe flooding are all much worse. You are doing the right thing by thinking positive. It sounds silly now, but something good may come out of this---and maybe not. At least you know there are a lot of people at this very moment in situations far worse than yours. That is not intended to make lite of your problems.

Just don't let it impair your vision to the future.

Dang rain... Had to set extra pumps at work today to keep drainage in the pits. Had to use 4wd most areas we went... well that wasn't all bad... until we cleaned the truck this evening. When I got home, Carrie told me one of the roads had water over it earlier today.

Dave, I would love to take my F250 out to the mines again. I work on a gas well in a mine a while back and had a blast going down those roads. Those roads get slick out there.

Bring yo truck an gloshies, have mud, like to c nut in truc on red snot.

Others would like to drink and watch. I know a stock Samurai will go up it, but not anywhere near a straight line. The real fun is coming back down. Slide until you hit rutt, correct steering and start another slide. Hmmmmm! Hope you miss the deep rutt (ditch). Where is the gauntlet when you need it?

Not to hi-lift this thread---dam busting rain-----can B fun.

I wish we still had F-250s out there. I think they handled our work better than the trucks that replaced them. It is fun to slide around on the roads though.

Yep, about the only thing worth doing in this weather is sleeping or playing in the mud.

That sounds like fun Zero, I'll have to remember that the next time it rains, but you have to many trees for me to bring the F-250 out there. I guess I could drive one of your many Zuks if I have made you too mad with my donkey comments. lol
If anybody hasn't been to Zero's place it is worth stopping by, the Zuks are great for letting the kids drive.

but you have to many trees for me to bring the F-250

I am talking about the road going to the other gravel pit.
there are no trees, just a slick hill.

Oh, I forgot about over there. I bet that road going to the pond is under water too. This summer I want to try driving across that pond with the Jimmy as long as you still have that D7 to pull me out with after it drys out some!

I just got back from the tough truch challenge that the Decatur4x4 guys put on. It rained the entire time. From the time we left until after I got home. It was kinda neat though. We had a group of 15 ppl hanging out together under the tarps we put up. Only scary thing was that we were in Montague County. I always hear about tornadoes and flash flooding in Montague county.

Did the rains manage to put out the fires?
I'm sorry for anyone who might have any flood Damage.
We are still cleaning up from Hurricane Rita around here. I still have to replace my carpet.
Good luck to all with the rains and floods.
