Rig Insurance

I don't know if it's been discussed yet or not but what do you all use for insurance on the rig if any? I got a quote from USAA for about $35 a month for full coverage plus $5000 on top of what the vehicles worth. I also found out that if the rig is not insured and you know you're pulling it on the trailer and something happens it's not covered underneath your primary vehicle insurance. Also if there was a fire your home or whatever it's also not covered under homeowners or renters insurance. So let's hear what you guys do if you have insurance or not

According to my agent, if the rig is on the trailer, and your trailer is attached to the tow rig, then your vehicle insurance covers the trailer and the rig. If the trailer comes unhitched or the rig rolls off, you're screwed without add'l insurance.

This is how it was explained to me also.
But I also carry a policy on the buggy just in case. Its issued by value and runs me about $150 every 6 months. Money well spent if it was stolen or it went out of control on a trail taking out a buggy full of nuns.

I got a quote for about $30 a month that was full coverage and liability for $20k for my rig. I can remember the company, but this thread reminds me I need to go buy that policy. It covers anything that gets damaged in a roll over or anything I damage including property.

I'll try to remember to call tomorrow. It is a company that specializes in toy insurance. They were categorizing it as a dune buggy best I remember.

Ya that's what I did as well through usaa/progressive, classified as "dune buggy" valued at 20k and the rates were more than my dmax! So obviously I didn't say yes
