Turkey day schmurky day...

Drove home yesterday to eat with the parental units and had a good meal. I even made some wrapped jalapenos mike style with the honey and my mom loved them, (she will not eat anything spicy even non hot black pepper.) So props to you again mike for the new to me style.

Anyway.....

In the true spirit of the pilgrims (who did not have turkey at the first thanks giving but did have deer meat. ((historical fact)) ) I decided to make a pot of Venison stew tonight. After all as we have all felt the temps drop in the past few day's it is time for cold weather grub.

A quick pic while I work on typing up the recipe and a how to make it for y'all. It will be ready in an hour or so.

1 whole white onion chopped
7 cloves fresh garlic chopped
2 lb. venison
lb. ground pork
1 cup red wine
1 can rotel
2 cups water
1 tbl sp of each
Salt
Pepper
Chile powder
Paprika
Cyanine pepper
Commino
2 tbl sp olive oil
1 cup cut green beans
cup mushrooms
16 baby red new potatoes

In a 5 qt pot

Put in the olive oil to heat up. Then add the onion, garlic and black pepper. Slowly stir till the onion is translucent over med. heat
Then add the meat and other spices. cook on high till the meat forms a light crust.
Add the red wine to deglaze the pot. Stir constantly
Add the can of rotel and water and let simmer for two hours.
Then add the mushrooms, green beans, and potatoes. And let simmer for one hour.

Serve with your choice of bread. I prefer biscuits.
