The whatever happen to...? Thread

Thought I'd start the whatever happen thread. Mainly because I was thinking Mud-dawg and his Toy that he built. I went back through his old post and didn't see where he had moved.

well

Whatever happened to:

The HUGE 32x12.50x15 tires we all ran at 1 time?
3 on the tree shifters?
The 426 HEMI?
17 cents a gallon fuel, yes it was 17 cents and I was there, Arlington Texas 1969. I had a flat top haircut while all my buds had hair down to their collars.
The Ford Ranchero and the Chevy El Camino?
Maybe these are not what the thread was meant to be about lol

1. You will see them on most Zuks wheeling today
2. My 1963 Chevy with a 307 had one
3. Check your local drag strip
4. Don't know. 54 cents is the cheapest I remember.
5. Hopefully died peaceful deaths, but were resurrected more than once, as a Subaru brat and now again as a Honda Ridgeline.

mello yellow is still out in alabama, they even have diet. i think it is made my coca- cola now.

Moonpies still exist, at local convenience store as- ba,vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, and orange and lemon.

El Camino are classic cars now, i see them everyonce in awhile.
I know where a 59 rancho is with the wings and all.

426 hemi's are now crate motors that are high dollars!!

the hot pork skins is still like that in old mexico last time i was there. due to hazard of choking they took it out and cost too much to keep it up.

3 on the tree still exist in old trucks, BUt cost too much to put back in unless you have all the parts(i checked).
Everything else no clue. gas was 79 as the cheapest for me.

born 1982.

yup, Mudddawg sold his toy and bought a hotrod car IIRC.

I sometimes wonder where time went, then look around a see that it's still here and going strong.

X we done got old... just ask our kids

Lions clubs, Kiwanas and them are still going strong, just not as evident in the cities, get out in the country and you will see them everywhere, hometown parades, county fairs, etc.. Something to be said for country living I think. City livin is convienient but I surely miss the peace and quit of the woods.

1st 4x4 I had, I put them old peanut mudgrips I bought at the tractor dealer, joined the Farm Bureau and got my discount. used to go everywhere I wanted and some places I did'nt or should'nt hehe ain't seen those tires in a while now.

Mickey Thompson 50's

two cars getting hung up on each others bumper..used to bounce on one to get them unhung

Cracker jacks with real prizes

Damn!!! I can still remember filling my diesel for 80 cent's a gallon. I know that is not as cheap as some of you old timers can remember, but I grew up with all of my friends being in there 40's so I appreciate the wisdom my elders have to pass on. Even if they are full of sh*t.

I worked at a Enco service station when I was in High School and pumped gas at 26cents pg.
I was liberating the Vietnamese in 69.
Bought my 1st CJ when I special ordered a 77 CJ7, 304 v-8, 4:10 gears, 3-speed. Paid about $3000 for it. Giant tires were 12.00x15 Gumbo Mudders, then 35" Ground Hawgs.
