Axle Surprise!!!!

Found this while i was tearing down my axle last night.

Now for a daily driver would it be better to have a detroit locker in the rear or a posi tract?

Okay, and what is the trick to getting the pictures to show up in the thread..... I cant figure it out...

Sweet, you were right i didnt delete the first http://. Now it works. I went thru that thread and was like i am doing everything it said to do. Thanks guys.

Im excited. I priced the Gov loc and from summit new they were worth 730 bucks. Now what should i excpect if i put a detroit in the front with manual locking hubs? AS long as they are un locked they shouldnt effect my daily driving right? I can afford one right now but i am going to start saving.

Correct, unlocked hubs equals free wheeling.

Burb89,

is your rig set up for rocks or mud? Mine is mainly going to be mud for awhile until i can afford some more upgrades.

Mud. So far I like it, I have ram assist though. It will turn as good as I need it to. I did research on the two before I went w/ the spool and they both locked the front but the spool was less dollar bills. I will see if I can find the article.

found it....

What axle are you running in the front? I am going to be running a d44 so wouldnt the spool put too much stress on the axle shafts when the hubs are locked?
