Boulder Creek in Marble Falls

http://www.bouldercreekministries.org./

Check it out.
3600 acres total.
They are open now....but still building trails
Anyone that would like to help build or just go out and check it out....contact Hans Dersch [email protected]

Here's a post from Hans on another website

"There has been a lot of talk about the new Boulder Creek OHV Park. This message comes directly to you from the Boulder Creek Board of Directors. They have made trail park development a priority. RIGHT NOW, this weekend, bikes, ATV’s, 4x4’s can come out and explore a beautiful 750 acre open riding area full of terrain to be enjoyed and discovered. In many cases you may be the first vehicle to cross the ground! For beginners there are miles of ranch road to explore (observing speed limits and safety rules of course). Just the ride out to the open area is breathtaking.

But that doesn’t begin to scratch the surface! We have a magnificent Green Loop circling about 1800 acres in the west. It is nearly finished and will allow kids, moms, beginners, and even side-by-side (Mule/Rhino) a way to get out into nature and enjoy the incredible views stretching all the way to Lake Travis.

That Green Loop provides access points to more difficult and challenging single track for bikes that twist through trees, climb steep ravines, and drop off rock ledges. Our cycle clubs have been working countless hours cutting and marking these trails, and when they are ready to open you will be stunned. We will open trails as soon as they are finished. And, with the help of clubs and volunteers, we will continue building until we have 85 miles of trail open at any given time.

You can camp up on Sunset Hill, take a camper or tent to the back, or enjoy the comforts of hotels and restaurants 7 miles away in Marble Falls.

Remember, not only does your membership allow you to spend your weekends riding at the biggest and most beautiful park in Central Texas but it helps to fund a worthy cause: the Boulder Creek Ministries Counseling Center which which provides low cost counseling and support services to youth and families in the Highland Lakes communities.

Folks, there are a lot of us: Dirt bikes, ATV’s, 4x4’s but very few places we can go. Riding areas disappear every year. Land is sold, developed, or too far away to use. We have an opportunity to make this the biggest and best trail park in Texas. Show the Board of Boulder Creek Ministries that their commitment to making this land a riding park was well-founded by signing up today, coming out to the OHV Park, and riding!

Sign up on the website today, or mail a check (Payable to Boulder Creek Trail Division) to:

JEEZUS H PARSLEY AND GRITZ!! That would be WAY out of my wheeling price range. Guess I can't make it out there. For that cost I can tow my beast to colorado and play in the mountains. Or do we all get free gold rolexes with a paid membership?

They havent had many runs out there. So that why alot of us are ehaded out there. To see what they have there rules. if they go crazy when we start looking for the good stuff.

Think it more like $35 rig driver and $15 for your passenger. because some folks were not going because of the price. But $50 for a day of wheeling not that bad.

There yearly member ship think it includes the use of the hole place all year long. gun range, camping, fishing.

Yea,the prices are that bad! For those that take there family its really really bad! If you went with a wife and two kids and camped over, thats 150.00 for a days wheeling.Way to much, especially for most familys.

The annual membership covers weekend, daylight use. Day memberships are per/rider, per day. Membership does not include $8.00 annual insurance fee.
No riders under 18 without parental supervision, liability release forms must be signed by ALL entrants to property.
Camping fees are not included in annual or daily fees.

So it seems you would still have to pay if you bought the annual pass for camping. And I really don't drink....really I don't. But I do smoke and honestly I wouldn't want some one preaching to me about quiting.
Maybe I am not getting the whole point...Great that their is another park and a little for everyone. I just find it hard to drive that far for a days wheeling...becuase it seems you would have to pay another $10 if your alone and pay another $35 if you wanted to hit the trail again the next day. They should come up with a weekend rate....coming in on Friday set camp and wheel Saturday and Sunday. Wonder what the fee would be like? hhhmmmmmmmmm $90 for one person is what I see if you are FS. from the prices above.
anyway, my head isn't screwed on straight...so if I offend anyone sorry.
Mike

and if you are not in a club...because I read somewhere they wiill check and would have to pay the balance....if found in a lie...or maybe didn't know????
I'm not here to cut and pick at the Park. But I also feel the prices are to steep for me.
Seems like a nice place. Now if that was in SATX I would pay that for that fact that gas will be saved and time driving. But, to keep Ppls to check out the place...they need to offer a weekend pass...cheaper prices.

Well it isn't where the Den was...and in that case...I still feel the prices are high...and don't forget that $8 insurance fee...which I don't understand....you sign a waiver shouldn't that be enough?
Boulder Creek Ministries .... the name just....well.... uuuuuuu, seems like I would have to watch what I say and do...that's all. Not sure if I am the only one that gets that fib from the name.

I'm sure the insurance fee is a surcharge intended to pass on the cost pro-rata of their liability insurance coverage applicable to the property.

Yes, the waiver is intended to lower their potential for liability and the name "ministries" suggests to me that they are probably a non-profit/charity. But, since charging for off-roading is probably considered a commercial enterprise, I doubt they would enjoy the usual caps on damages if they were to be sued successfully. So, I'm sure they went out and upped their liability coverage and are now intending to pass on that cost to the user.

Many do it, they just "hide" it in the park use fee and don't break it out as a separate charge.

I heard there pretty cool folks out. Non of the preaching stuff. There just a non-profit group. Like staded.

I think they'll come off the price after they see people dont like the amounts. I been on acouple first time opening parks. They are alittle wish-washy at first. But when they see them large crowd start pouring they fix things quick.

We checked into the $8 fee, it doesn't apply to full-size vehicles, only bikes and atv's.

yyyyyyaeeeeeeee, I was going to let it go Rastus...but yes it has that as you stated. and what I posted above is straight off the web page..I just high lighted stuff in Red (post 15).
That's nice to know RamRock.... I guess like any place....after anyone here that wheels it...I'm sure will report back.
I don't want my post to sound negative...and that is not how I want what I say to come across. Just pointing out the facts on price....
Mike

Thanks Glenn for checking into that.

No problem. You have to sign a form saying you have auto insurance, so the assumption is that you already have insurance in place, guys on bikes and quads though would need to pay since liability insurance isn't usually in place for these vehicles.
