Breaking Down Rockwell wheels?

I am trying to break down my 49" michelins which are on rockwell split lock wheels. I got one completely broke down and the other 3 I have the ring off of the one side but now the tire is stuck to the lip of the rim on the other side. Any ideas how to get it off? I have tried prying beating and everything else I can think of. I even drove on it with my truck. There is a vulcanizing place here in town that said they will pop them off for $30 a piece but I am not paying for that. Thats a ridiculous price.

Try driving a truck up on each side at the same time. We normally get the frontend loader on one side and drive the Dodge up the other side. Stack some blocks under the wheel so that the tire can drop a little more.

Same here.

My tire have so much dry rot, that that was the only way I could brake them at home.

Well I used my big truck to drive on it and I think the problem was the tire just molded over the tire on the ground. I will see if I can get my 2wd dodge diesel on there. That should be fun.

Ok I messed with getting the rest of the tires broke down tonight. I had another idea of laying the tires flat on my trailer with the one wheel I have off under it. Then I took a come a long on one side and a chain and binder on the other and basically sucked the tire down to break the bead. Well I messed with that for probably a hour and got about a 2" gap between the tire and the lip of the rim. Well I noticed the rim slid back and forth on the tire when leaning it over but I couldnt move it by hand. So I stuck the tire on 2 jack stands and a floor jack and smacked the rim a couple times with a sledge hammer and it popped right out. I did the same thing with the remaining two and got them out in about 10 minutes. The hardest thing was pulling the tub out of the tire.

Now I have to get them on my stazworks wheels! I messed with for about 45 minutes today trying to get the 2 pieces that goes inside the tire to line up right and I couldnt get it. I took a break and need to figure something else out on how to get them to line up.

I am not even to the part yet. There are two inserts the go in the tire first. I have them both in there but I just cant seem to get them lined up with each other and the tire all at the same time. I had to do it twice on the goodyears I have now and both time I did one I didnt have this much trouble.

There is a thick rubber piece about 9"s or so wide and then there is a PVC insert that goes beside it that is about 2"s wide. Each one is round and they do not bolt together. I dont know why it is not just one wide insert. The guy I got the wheels from said they are 20X12 maybe they didnt have insert for a 12" wide wheel so they just took the inserts for the 10" wheels and added the PVC beside it. The michelins were on those stock rockwell wheels which are pretty skinny compared to what I am trying to stuff in there so the tires are used to be skinny. I was just looking at the pics I took right after I got them and I dont have any of the inserts. I will get some today.
