It depends on what type or grade of parts you use.

Some use brand new crate motors, new trannies, higher end accessories, higher end components, etc. etc. Lots of variables when building anything and I do mean anything!!

If you buy the top quality parts for your whole rig it adds up pretty fast!!!! Most of the 20k buggys you'll see have atlas's,dynatrac 60's, swayaway coilovers, currie Anti-rock,treailreadys, willwoods, arbs, ctm's,high angle shafts,etc... Damn nice rigs most people dream about owning, not something just thrown together w/ cheap parts!!!

I HAVE A GREAT IDEA!!!

Be happy with one rig and invest the right parts in that rig!

hmmm

What about a cool home bent tube chassis, lightweight 4.3 V6/ auto tranny, NP208, 12 bolt welded rear and Dana 44 front with chrome moly shafts and OX or other high strength u-joints, dual ended ram w/ full hydro steering, fuel cell, winch and 37" MT Competition Claws. Sounds pretty good to me.

You guys draw too many conclusions. I was just looking on ebay and noticed the price of rigs and was thinking how much would it actually cost to build one that was worth $35,000. I figure add $10,000 to my $13,000 and you only have $23,000.

My truggy is gonna have to get me by for at least 2 years. I am flat *** broke these days.

It is the nickle and dime stuff that puts the price through the roof. You can easily add up Atlas, tranny, D60 and stuff but it is stuff like spring bushings, TRE's, shackles, hydro hoses, etc.

Yep, my 'to do' list on my little matchbox is 3 pages long and most of it is 'nickle and dime' stuff that adds up. Probably only 3 or 4 items in there over, say, $300.
