Detroit vs. Yukon Grizzly

Im looking into buying a full case locker for a D60 front and have narrowed my choices down to the Detroit and the Grizzly.

I have only had one detroit give me issues and have never used a grizzly.

Anyone prefer one over the other?

I am running a new Detroit in my front 60 and a new Yukon Grizzly in the rear 14 bolt. Both work great.

Ok, one of you Canadians bullied me into trying out a Runva winch. I love it so....... I think you should give the Grizzly a shot. They claim to be stronger and better working than the Detroit. I have never really liked the Detroit because they seem to put a lot of shock load on the axle shafts as it locks and ratchets. Grizzly claims to have to stopped that.

I run a spool front and rear so I can't plug either one. Good luck

The Grizzlys sure do look good. Ive got one for the rear of the Cherokee as soon as I get some new gears.

rocknjeep just gettin started
I have Detroit front and rear.... Would go Yukon in the future.
best warranty, and seem to hold up better with my web surfing research IMO.

Edit: Not that I am saying Detroit is bad or anything, but I would look into who has the best warranty support.

I usually lean towards spools or welded diffs for they simplicity and cost. This time I would like a tad bit better street manners. Thanks for the opinions. Both are about the same price but I think the grizzly looks better, not that looks matter inside a diff.

ARB or another selectable locker would be the cats meow, but even with the best good ol boy pricing, I could lock up front and rear for what 1 ARB would run me. Also, it seems they always have a seal, O ring, fitting or plastic line giving the user grief. I like reliability, and its more important to me than the cost in the end.
