I have a divorce mounted NP205 and I love it. I can pull the tranny and not have to drop the t-case too. I can change trannies and my drive lines never change. I can high center on the t-case and never worry about braking the tranny to t-case adapter. I can clock it how ever I want or need and not have to have a clocking ring. I, when I mounted it, had the opportunity to position it any where and anyhow I wanted to.

And guys that wish they were girls.....

Automatic transmissions are gay.

Flipped up tow mirrors are the sagging pants of the truck world.

Yes, that is my plan. I have a divorced np 203 from a Ford. I just need to get the doubler kit.

Divorced t-case rear output is [usually] closer to the rear axle. They usually have a 2wd tranny (longer) and then you have to have a short driveshaft from the trans to tcase.

Here's mine.

Ignore the exhaust going thru the crossmember with the front driveshaft.

I'm running a div case so I can have the exact same driveline length f & r. This isn't possible with some wheelbase/tranny combos though...

And for the other reasons that Mitch mentioned.

I'm running a divorced 205 in the k10 so I could run a 2wd nv4500 that I already had.

One advantage is that you can mount the t-case at a different height than the transmission. I mounted mine higher to keep it from hanging under the frame. You could also mount it lower if you have a real tall truck.
