G70 Binder Chain

Planning to go back to chaining the rig down instead of using straps. Anyone have any lines on 3/8" Grade 70 binder chain?

Best I have found is $4.99/foot local or ~$2.50+/foot online with $45+ shipping.

Thanks

I just went from chains, to straps/axle loops. I will never use a chain on my rig again. I can load up and go in half the time.......
Why are you going back to chains?

How do you strap in half the time?

Always felt more comfortable with chains, never loosen, dont wear, etc..

With the straps, I just pitch the loops over the tube. Connect the ratchet straps to them and the floor d-rings. Tighten them. Done.
To me, the chains are heavy, bulky and hard to store. I spend a lot of time crawling around underneath, positioning the chains. Then having to wrap all the excess chain, so they don't drag the roads. Also, chains can do a lot of damage to axle tubes and/or suspension parts if your not paying attention. Especially when your hung over and ready to go home.

Btw: (flame suit on) I've always had real good luck with the Harbor freight binding chains. You can catch them on sale for next to nothing........
I've used them on everything from my tractor truck, to my bobcat. Zero breakage.......

Cool, not too worried about damaging anything..never had any chain damage compare to rockrash.

I ran chains until a few years ago when I lent them to a friend and needed to load the K5, picked up some straps for what was only going to be one run.. those straps are done..need new ones..

I figure they are China..always been afraid to buy anything important from HF..even Northern Tool concerns me.

Thanks for the experience.

i use straps and axle wrap straps on all 4 corners and takes me about 5-10 minutes to strap it down. to me chains would be heavy and a pita to mess with everytime you go out to wheel.
