gearing questions

4:1's that will fit into my np231 = $800

klune 4:1 w/my 2.72 for 10:1 = $1600

Atlas 4SP for a low of 10:1 = $3000

I guess the klune with the stock tcase is the best gearing for the buck, but that 4SP sure would be cool to have when it is available.

np231 = 38:1 overall
4:1's in the np231 = 55:1 overall
klune w/np231 = 151:1 overall
atlas by itself = 140:1 overall

What's ya'lls opinion?

I would probably say the klune. or if you just have money to throw around the atlas. I like the options of a add on box or doubler or multi speed transfer. I know now having the option of 4:1 I would not like it all the time. I still run around most of the time in 2:1 and then when needed shift down to 4:1. I think 4: all the time would suck. just my opinion

Thats the nice thing about the atlas 4SP, it has 4 gears to choose from unlike the old atlas's. But the cost is ridiculous.

Low riders want SITCHES and wheelers want SHIFTERS..... go for the duel cases and spend the other cash on more cool stuff aslo put a manuel valve body in your Auto so you can start in 2 abd 3 to get more options on gearing

depending on your wheelbase, the klune/231 may be long. my klune/205 is the same length as my old 208 though.

however, I can't see paying 1400 for another gear. the gearing options with the klune (3sp) are a big improvement over a single low gear.

Also keep in mind that you will be doubling the power that the little 231 will see. It may not be a problem if you are easy on the throttle, but it's something to think about.
