This came into the shop this morning

The owner of my company just lost his Heep in a divorce and went ape sh@t over this one..my question is how many of these 'Golden Eagles' were made? I looked but could not find any numbers, guess I just did not find the right sight. My boss wants to buy this thing but the guy is talking big cash about it being very rare. It is a 77 with vin number j7f93aa068*** 4.0 6banger seems pretty original but needs some serious TLC...runs rough some lights not working needs seats redone ect ect but overall decent shape. Is $10,000 actually reasonable for this thing? From what I can find is everyone says it's a rare bird but I can't put my eyes on any actual numbers..
I know some of you Jeep guys know the deal,
Thanks for any and all input.:toast:

I saw one on Craigslist w few months back that went for $4000. From the pictures it is not original as far as the lift and tires and wheels. I am not sure on #'s but they made the Golden Eagle in both the CJ-5, CJ-7 and there was a TJ package for a year or so. Some people think they are very rare. Unless you are looking to restore one for Barrett Jackson or something it would not be worth it. Tell your boss he can find alot better deal on a moded CJ for $10k.

If Mitch was stupid rich he'd pay that kind of money just so that he could crush it with the PIG.

The guy turned down 7 for it....I am glad, thanks for all the input peeps. If anyone has a CJ for sale let me know, any price range or condition.
All your input was greatly appreciated.
LOL @ Monster...I keep thinking Mitch will get pissed at his lil VW one day and squish it..I hope someone has a video camera if he does:toast:
Nope, no bug crushing, sorry to dissapoint. Maybe if it was a ford, but if it was, I never would have bought it.......

Check out collins Brothers Jeeps...They are located close to your town( probably about an hours drive)...
Here is a golden eagl they had ( may still Have) in the Pre-Shop" section at the website..http://www.collinsbrosjeep.com/main.htm

And if you want to see some crazy jeep prices, check out an all original CJ-8 with low miles...Check out what they are bringing...Of course alot of these clean old jeeps are sold to South America and Spain for some reason...

If it was stock and completely restored to off the showroom floor condition You might get $4,000 for it if you found the right buyer.

In the condition it is in judging from the picture it is a $1,500 to $2,000 CJ with a sticker on it.

Other than that you also have to factor in the "Jeep" tax. Even old beat to he!l Willys 2A's go for $3,000 just because it is a Jeep.
