Hand Throttle

I was thinking it would be pretty cool to rig up a hand throttle like off a tractor for crawling manual trans rigs. That way if you are midway up something, your not trying to use three pedals with two feet. Has anyone done it? Its really simple, and may be comon, just wanted to see what yall thought.

I've seen guys use the gear selecter off a bicycle mounted to the shifter. It has detents that will hold it at RPM.

Here is what I have in both my rigs. Maybe not Teraflex brand, but basically is it a shifter off of a 10 speed or mountain bike.

But you have to hold onto it, the other type, you dont, set it and leave it. I had one like yours on my old green yota and I HATED it. But that's my opinion.

I feel the same way about the ones you have. I had one in the PIG and I hated that damn thing. I'd prefer to just let off the handel and it come back down to idle. Once I start moving forward I'm done with it and just let go and start using the foot pedal.

But you know how hard it was to drive that fat bastard. Between switching gears, working the rear steer, working the hand trottle and spinning the wheel a million times to make it turn your hands where full!!!!!

Does that retain the gas pedal or is the pedal just dead with this? Neat concept either way

Just like mine. The cable attaches to the throttle body valve thing and when you ratchet it it opens the valve and keeps the rpms steady. More you click it the higher the rpms go/stay. I've used this in a lot of situations. Sometimes just 2 clicks and cruise control on the trails

I don't care for the one that clicks. I would rather it just throttle back down on its own after I'm done with it and not have to unclick it for it to go back to normal. I LOVE MINE. But that's me

Here is how mine is setup and love it. You only need it for a second or 2 so no need to have one that you have to set. Ive only used it a time or 2 since the ftoy is geared so low. but nice to have it when/if you need it.
